Use this tool to check the current DNS configuration of your domain. It will show you which name servers are currently authoritative for your domain by querying the root name servers and following the path of delegation. If you are hosting your domain with Alentus the name servers for your domain need to be set to the Alentus name servers: ns1.zabco.net and ns2.zabco.net. Once you have updated your domain record at your registrar it will take some time for these changes to take effect. Your registrar has to update the root name servers with your new info and those changes then have to propagate to name servers around the world. The whole process can take up to 48 hours. After you have made the changes to your domain record at your registrar you can use this tool to see if the changes have been propagated to the root name servers yet or not. Below is an example of what the display should look like for a domain that is hosted here at Alentus. The display will show one of the root name servers at the top which will point to one of the TLD (top level domain) servers which will point to the Alentus name servers (ns1.zabco.net and ns2.zabco.net). What is important to look for here is that the name servers that end up being pointed to are the Alentus name servers. If the Alentus name servers are not yet being pointed to then anything that you have hosted here will not function (email, www, etc.). See the Alentus Technical Support Center for more information on this topic.
